In addition to a number of works for solo piano (mazurkas, polonaises, nocturnes, waltzes and etudes), this programme also includes a cycle of songs for voice and piano. Among the vocal performers on our books for this event is Juliya Kiyan (Ukraine).

CHOPIN AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES: CHOPIN-LISZT-SCHUMANN Piano recital
This programme showcases works for piano by composers of Chopin's age. It was Robert Schumann who first brought Chopin's genius to the attention of the European public, while Franz Liszt, who was a great friend of Chopin, was also his only true rival in the art of the piano during the 19th century.

CHOPIN AND PADEREWSKI piano recital
Chopin and Paderewski - two piano geniuses. 2010 is not only Chopin year, it is also the 150th anniversary of Paderewski's birth. This concert includes piano compositions by Frederic Chopin as well as some charming pieces by Ignacy Jan Paderewski (Menuet, Cracovienne fantastique, Legende and Sarabande).

POLISH MUSIC For voice and piano or for voice and string quartet
This concert offers an overview of music by some of Poland's foremost composers since Frederic Chopin: Maria Szymanowska, Chopin himself, Stanisław Moniuszko, Zygmunt Noskowski, Mieczysław Karłowicz, and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Two versions of this programme are available: for piano and voice, or for string quartet and voice. A central feature of this programme is the spoken word, in the form of a commentary covering major developments in Polish musical.

POLISH FOLK SHOW
The folk ensemble "Złoty Róg", or "Cornucopia" (7 members), bring you this lively presentation of original Krakow urban folk traditions, as well as showcasing several Polish national dances - the oberek, the kujawiak, and the polonaise. Accompanied by live music, the singers and dancers draw members of the audience into the fun. One of the attractions of this concert is a face-to-face encounter with the Lajkonik, an exotic fairytale half-man, half-horse figure.
